The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
