The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 who guard their privates, 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 to their promise, 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
