The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
