The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
