The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
