The notables among his people who had refused to believe and who denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and those whom We had endowed with ease and comfort in this life, cried out: "This is no other than a mortal like yourselves who eats what you eat and drinks what you drink. 33 If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, you will certainly be losers. 34 "Does he promise you that when you have died and have become dust and bones, you shall come out alive (resurrected)? 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again. 37 He is nothing but a man who has forged against Allah a lie, we will never believe him' 38 The Messenger prayed, "Lord, help me; they have called me a liar". 39 (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" 40 So the true Scream seized them – We therefore made them like rotten hay; so away with the unjust people! 41 Then We produced after them other generations. 42 no community can advance or postpone its appointed time, 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Yet whenever its Messenger came to a nation they belied him, so We made them follow others, and We made them but as tales, so begone the nation who did not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 to Pharaoh and his courtiers, but they behaved insolently, for they were an arrogant people. 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed: 48 And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
