And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 and, indeed, if you pay heed to a mortal like yourselves, you will surely be the losers! 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which you are promised. 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be resurrected. 37 He is only a man who has invented a lie about God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 39 God replied, "After a very short time they will certainly regret for their deeds." 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 Then after them, We created other generations. 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our Signs and a clear authority 45 To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. 46 And so they said: "Shall we believe [them] two mortals like ourselves - although their people are our slaves?" 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, that haply they might go aright. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and gave them shelter on a peaceful hillside watered by a fresh spring. 50
