And said the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people and belied the meeting of the Hereafter and whom We had luxuriated in the life of the world: this is no other than a human being like unto you; he eateth of that whereof ye eat, and he drinketh of that which ye drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 Does he promise you that when you are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, you will be brought forth to life? 35 ۞ “How remote, (really) how remote is the promise you are given!” 36 There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised (again). 37 He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him. 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 He replied: 'Before long, by the morning, they shall be remorseful' 40 So the true Scream seized them – We therefore made them like rotten hay; so away with the unjust people! 41 Thereafter, after them, We produced other generations; 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 We then sent Moosa and his brother Haroon, with Our signs and a clear proof. 45 to Pharaoh and his courtiers, but they behaved insolently, for they were an arrogant people. 46 They said, "Are we to believe in two human beings like ourselves, while their people are subject to us?" 47 So they denied them and were of those destroyed. 48 for, indeed, We had vouchsafed revelation unto Moses in order that they might find the right way. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. 50
