O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Taiyibat [all kinds of Halal (legal) foods which Allah has made legal (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.)], and do righteous deeds. Verily! I am Well-Acquainted with what you do. 51 Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.' 52 But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Do they think that We enlarge them in wealth and children, 55 We [but want to] make them vie with one another in doing [what they consider] good works? Nay, but they do not perceive [their error]! 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). 60 It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 until - after We shall have taken to task, through suffering, those from among them who [now] are lost in the pursuit of pleasures - they cry out in [belated] supplication. 64 Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. 65 My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their fancies, the heavens, the earth, and all who live in them would have surely been corrupted. No, We brought them their Remembrance; but from their Remembrance they turn away. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
