I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 Do they think that by all the wealth and offspring with which We provide them 55 We [but want to] make them vie with one another in doing [what they consider] good works? Nay, but they do not perceive [their error]! 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 But when We will strike with torment those (unbelievers) who are rich, they will start to cry for help. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 My verses were recited to you, but you turned upon your heels, 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 You are calling them to a Straight Way, 73 and surely they that believe not in the world to come are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair. 77
