O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 So leave them to their ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that We enlarge them in wealth and children, 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them? So the reward of your Lord is the best; and He is the Best Provider of Sustenance. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
