O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Surely those who stand in awe for fear of their Lord, 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord; 59 And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- 60 those vie in good works, outracing to them. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 And indeed you call them to the Straight Path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed their afflictions, they would still persist in their insolence, blindly wandering. 75 We seized them with the punishment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor will they humble themselves 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
