Pray, "Lord, if you would show me that [the punishment] of which they have been warned, 93 My Lord! then place me not among the wrong-doing people. 94 And indeed We are Able to show you the promise they are given. 95 Repel evil with that which is best: We are well acquainted with the things they say. 96 And say "O my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee from the suggestions of the Evil Ones. 97 And I seek refuge in Thee! O my Lord! from their presence. 98 (In Falsehood will they be) Until, when death comes to one of them, he says: "O my Lord! send me back (to life),- 99 so that I may do good works in the world I have left behind." Never! It is indeed but a meaningless word that he utters. A barrier shall stand behind such people till the Day they are raised up again. 100 There will be no kindred relations nor any opportunity to ask about others or seek their assistance after the trumpet has sounded. 101 And those whose scales are heavy [with good deeds] - it is they who are the successful. 102 But those whose scales are light - those are the ones who have lost their souls, [being] in Hell, abiding eternally. 103 The fire shall scorch their faces, and they will remain dejected in it. 104 Were not My messages recited to you and did you not reject them? 105 They will say: "our Lord! Our misfortune overwhelmed us, and we became a people astray! 106 O our Sustainer! Cause us to come out of this [suffering] - and then, if ever We revert [to sinning,] may we truly be [deemed] evildoers!" 107 Allah will say: "Away from Me; stay where you are and do not address Me. 108 Lo! there was a party of My slaves who said: Our Lord! We believe, therefor forgive us and have mercy on us for Thou art Best of all who show mercy; 109 “So you took them for a mockery until your mocking at them made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them!” 110 Verily I have recompensed them today, for they bore patiently, verily they are the achievers. 111 He will say: "What number of years did ye stay on earth?" 112 They will reply: 'A day, or part of a day; ask those who have kept count' 113 [Whereupon] He will say: "You have spent there but a short while: had you but known [how short it was to be]! 114 "Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?" 115 [KNOW,] then, [that] God is sublimely exalted, the Ultimate Sovereign, the Ultimate Truth: there is no deity save Him, the Sustainer, in bountiful almightiness enthroned! 116 And whoever invokes with Allah another god-- he has no proof of this-- his reckoning is only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be successful. 117 Say, "Lord, forgive us and have mercy. You are the best of those who show mercy." 118
