۞ But those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us are wont to say: "Why have no angels been sent down to us?" - or, "Why do we not see our Sustainer?" Indeed, they are far too proud of themselves, having rebelled [against God's truth] with utter disdain! 21 The Day, when they will see the angels, will not be a day of rejoicing for the criminals; they will cry out, "May Allah save us!" 22 for We shall have turned towards all the [supposedly good] deeds they ever wrought, and shall have transformed them into scattered dust 23 The inhabitants of the Garden will have the best residence and the finest lodging on that Day. 24 And on the day when the heaven shall burst asunder with the clouds, and the angels shall be sent down descending (in ranks). 25 the true Kingdom on that Day shall belong to the Merciful a harsh day for the unbelievers. 26 The Day that the wrong-doer will bite at his hands, he will say, "Oh! would that I had taken a (straight) path with the Messenger! 27 Woe to us! Would that we had not been friends with so and so. 28 “He indeed led me astray from the advice that had come to me”; and Satan deserts man, leaving him unaided. 29 And the Noble Messenger submitted, “O my Lord – indeed my people took this Qur’an as worthy of being abandoned.” 30 Even so We have appointed to every Prophet an enemy among the sinners; but thy Lord suffices as a guide and as a helper. 31 The unbelievers say: "Why was the whole Qur'an not sent down all at once to him?" It was sent thus that We may keep your heart resolute. So We enunciated it by steps and distinctly. 32 There is not an example they advance to which We do not give you a right answer and a better explanation. 33 They who shall be gathered prone on their faces unto Hell - those shall be worst in respect of place and the most astray in respect of path. 34
