۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. 21 Upon the day that they see the angels, no good tidings that day for the sinners; they shall say, 'A ban forbidden!' 22 And We shall set upon that which they worked, and shall make it as dust wind-scattered. 23 The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending. 25 True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day. 26 The unjust man will bite at his hand and say, "Would that I had stood by the Messenger! 27 Woe to us! Would that we had not been friends with so and so. 28 Assuredly he misled me from the admonition after it had come unto me. Verily the Satan is ever unto man a betrayer. 29 Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense." 30 Thus have We made for every prophet an enemy among the sinners: but enough is thy Lord to guide and to help. 31 The unbelievers have said, "Why was the whole Quran not revealed to him at once?" We have revealed it to you in gradual steps to strengthen your hearts and give you explanations. 32 And no example or similitude do they bring (to oppose or to find fault in you or in this Quran), but We reveal to you the truth (against that similitude or example), and the better explanation thereof. 33 Those who will be gathered to Hell (prone) on their faces,- they will be in an evil plight, and, as to Path, most astray. 34
