Have you not seen how your Lord spread the shadow. If He willed, He could have made it still then We have made the sun its guide [i.e. after the sunrise, it (the shadow) squeezes and vanishes at midnoon and then again appears in the afternoon with the decline of the sun, and had there been no sun light, there would have been no shadow]. 45 and then, [after having caused it to lengthen,] We draw it in towards Ourselves with a gradual drawing-in. 46 And He it is Who maketh night a covering for you, and sleep repose, and maketh day a resurrection. 47 It is He who sends the winds as heralds of His mercy and We send down pure water from the sky, 48 That We may give life thereby to a dead land, and We give to drink thereof many of the cattle and men that We had created. 49 We present the same phenomenon over and over again before them so that they may learn a lesson from it; but most people decline to adopt any other attitude than of disbelief and ingratitude. 50 And if We had willed, We would have raised up in each town a warner. 51 So, O Prophet, do not yield to the disbelievers, but wage a Jihad against them with this Qur'an. 52 ۞ And it is He, Who has let loose the two seas, one palatable and sweet, the other bitter and saltish, and there is a partition between them, which is an insurmountable barrier. 53 It is He Who has created man from water: then has He established relationships of lineage and marriage: for thy Lord has power (over all things). 54 And yet they worship, besides Allah, that which can neither benefit them nor hurt them; and the infidel is ever an aider of the devil against his Lord. 55 And We have sent thee (O Muhammad) only as a bearer of good tidings and a warner. 56 Tell them: "I do not ask any recompense of you for this other than (urging) whoever likes may take the way to his Lord." 57 Also trust in the Living One who never dies and glorify Him with His praise. He has sufficient knowledge of the sins of His servants. 58 He created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them in six spans then assumed His authority. He is the benevolent: Ask those who are well-informed. 59 When you say to them: "Bow before Ar-Rahman," they say: "What is Ar-Rahman? Should we adore whoever you ask us to?" And their aversion increases further. ۩ 60
