Hast thou not observed thine lord - how He hath stretched out the shadow? And if He had willed He would have made it still. Then We have made the sun for it an indication. 45 Then We take it to Ourselves, taking little by little. 46 And it is He Who made the night a veil for you, and the sleep a rest, and made the day for getting up. 47 It is He who sends the winds as heralds of His mercy and We send down pure water from the sky, 48 so that We might revive a dead land, and give to drink of it, of that We created, cattle and men a many. 49 And indeed, many times have We repeated [all] this unto men, so that they might take it to heart: but most men refuse to be aught but ingrate. 50 If We willed, We could have sent a Herald of Warning to every village. 51 So do not follow the unbelievers, and strive against them a mighty striving with it. 52 ۞ And He it is Who hath given independence to the two seas (though they meet); one palatable, sweet, and the other saltish, bitter; and hath set a bar and a forbidding ban between them. 53 And it is He, Who created man from water: then from him He caused two kinds of kindred, by blood and by marriage: your Lord is AI I-Powerful. 54 Yet they worship instead of Allah that which can neither benefit them nor hurt them. The disbeliever was ever a partisan against his Lord. 55 But thee We only sent to give glad tidings and admonition. 56 Say: I ask of you no reward for this, save that whoso will may choose a way unto his Lord. 57 Hence, place thy trust in the Living One who dies not, and extol His limitless glory and praise: for none is as aware as His creatures' sins as He 58 who created the heavens and the earth, and what between them is, in six days, then sat Himself upon the Throne, the All-compassionate: ask any informed of Him! 59 And when it is said unto them: prostrate yourselves unto the Compassionate, they say: and what is the Compassionate? Shall we prostrate ourselves unto that which thou commandest us? And it increaseth in them aversion. ۩ 60
