The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. Mim. 1 These are the verses of the illustrious Book. 2 Wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death [with grief] because they [who live around thee] refuse to believe [in it]? 3 Had We wanted, We would have sent them a miracle from the sky to make their heads hang down in submission. 4 Never does there come to them an admonition from the Merciful Lord but they turn away from it. 5 thus, indeed, have they given the lie (to this message as well). But [in time] they will come to understand what it was that they were wont to deride! 6 Do they not see the earth, and what beneficial kinds of things We have caused to grow in it? 7 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 8 truly, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 9
