And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
