When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew forth his hand, thereupon it shone bright before the beholders. 33
