And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 So go ye twain unto Fir'awn and say: verily we are the apostles of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 Said [Pharaoh]: "Indeed, if thou choose to worship any deity other than me, I shall most certainly throw thee into prison! 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 [Pharaoh] answered: "Produce it, then, if thou art a man of truth!" 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
