When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood: 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 The Pharaoh asked, "Who is the Lord of the Universe?" 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
