HENCE, [remember how it was] when thy Sustainer summoned Moses: "Go unto those evil doing people. 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
