HENCE, [remember how it was] when thy Sustainer summoned Moses: "Go unto those evil doing people. 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the apostles of the Lord of the worlds: 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 (Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us, 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
