When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me); 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
