And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 He said, “Not like this (any more); both of you go with Our signs, We are with you, All Hearing.” 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers. 33
