And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 "So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 “And you committed the deed of yours that you committed, and you were ungrateful.” 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear? 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 and he drew forth his hand - and lo! it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
