When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 Said Firaun, “Then bring it, if you are of the truthful.” 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers. 33
