And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 "And my breast straitens, and my tongue expresses not well. So send for Harun (Aaron) (to come along with me). 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful." 19 Said Moosa, “I did that at a time when I was unaware of the consequences.” (In anger – See verse 28:15) 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Said Firaun, “And what is the Lord Of The Creation? 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
