And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 (Moses continued): "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers before you." 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
