And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
