And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
