And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
