And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 You and your fathers? 76 "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds; 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
