And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said: Have you then considered what you have been worshipping: 75 You and your fathers? 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
