And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds; 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 And hell will appear plainly to the erring. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 no loyal friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
