And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 and they will be asked: "Where now is all that you were wont to worship 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a true friend; 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
