And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
