And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 You and your fathers? 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
