And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He asked them, "Can the idols hear you when you pray to them 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
