The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 span class="col">Their brother Noah asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 106 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 107 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 108 I seek of you no reward for this: my reward is with none except the Lord of the Universe. 109 So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we place our faith in thee, even though [only] the most abject [of people] follow thee?" 111 He said: And what knowledge have I of what they may have been doing (in the past)? 112 Their reckoning is upon my Lord, if ye but knew. 113 And I am not one to drive away the believers. 114 I am naught but a warner manifest. 115 They said: "O Noah! If you do not desist, you will certainly become one of the accursed." 116 He said: "My Lord! Verily, my people have belied me. 117 So pass a clear judgement between me and them and rescue me and the believers with me." 118 So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures). 119 Then after it, We drowned the rest. 120 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 121 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 122
