The people of Noah gave the lie to the Messengers. 105 when their brother Noah said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 106 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 107 fear God, and obey me. 108 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being; 109 so fear you God, and obey you me.' 110 ۞ They replied: 'Are we to believe you whom the lowliest follow' 111 (Noah) said, "I have no knowledge of their deeds. 112 It is only for my Lord to take account of them. Would that you made use of your understanding! 113 And I am not going to drive away the believers; 114 I am none but a plain warner." 115 They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)." 116 He said, 'My Lord, my people have cried me lies, 117 So pass a clear judgement between me and them and rescue me and the believers with me." 118 So We saved him and those with him in a laden ship. 119 And drowned the rest of them. 120 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 121 surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 122
