The people of 'Ad accused the messengers of lies. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not take heed? 124 I am for you an honest Messenger. 125 fear God, then, and obey me. 126 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 He has given you cattle, children, 133 And gardens and springs. 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They replied: "It is all the same for us whether you admonish us or not. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 "And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!" 138 Eventually they gave the lie to him and We destroyed them. Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
