'Aad denied the messengers 123 Their brother Hud asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 124 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 I ask no recompense of you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 gardens, and springs. 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They said, “It is the same for us, whether you advise us or not be of the preachers.” 136 This is not but the custom of the former peoples, 137 And we shall not be doomed. 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 140
