The Ad gave the lie to the Messengers. 123 when their brother Hood said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 Have fear of God and obey me. 131 Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know, 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 gardens and fountains. 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 “This is nothing but the tradition of former people.” 137 and we shall not be chastised.' 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140
