'Aad denied the messengers 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 125 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 126 I ask no recompense of you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 He has given you flocks and sons, 133 And gardens and fountains; 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 This has been happening all along. 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 140
