'Aad denied the messengers 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 Do you build over each high place a sign to amuse yourselves! 128 And you make strong fortresses that perhaps you may 129 And when ye seize, ye seize like unto tyrants. 130 "Now fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Have fear of the One who has bestowed upon you all that you know. 132 He has given you abundance of cattle and children 133 “And with gardens and water-springs.” 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 They replied, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or do not preach, 136 This is not but the custom of the former peoples, 137 and we are not going to be chastised [for adhering to it]!" 138 So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
