(The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah). 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not take heed? 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 126 And I ask of you no hire therefor: my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! 129 and when you strike you strike like tyrants? 130 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 He has bestowed on you cattle, and sons, 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an awful day. 135 They said, “It is the same for us, whether you advise us or not be of the preachers.” 136 This has been happening all along. 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 Then they accused him of lies; so We annihilated them. Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
