Thamood cried lies to the Envoys 141 When their brother Salih said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 142 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 143 So fear Allah, and obey me. 144 For this I demand no recompense from you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 145 "Do you think that you will remain here peacefully forever 146 among gardens and fountains, 147 And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit? 148 And you hew houses out of the mountains exultingly; 149 "Be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me, 150 And do not obey the bidding of the extravagant, 151 "Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)." 152 They replied: 'Surely, you are one of those bewitched. 153 You are nothing but a man like us. Bring us a token if you speak the truth." 154 He said: (Behold) this she-camel. She hath the right to drink (at the well), and ye have the right to drink, (each) on an appointed day. 155 so do her no harm, or the punishment of an awful day will befall you." 156 But they hamstrung her, and then were penitent. 157 And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 158 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
