(The tribe of) Thamud denied the messengers (of Allah) 141 when their brother Salih said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 142 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 143 Have fear of God and obey me. 144 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 145 Do you think that you will be left secure [forever] -- 146 in the midst of gardens and fountains, 147 and fields, and [these] palm-trees with slender spathes? 148 And hew ye out houses in the mountains skilfully! 149 So fear God and obey me: 150 and obey not the commandment of the prodigal 151 those who spread corruption on earth instead of setting things to rights!" 152 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 153 You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful." 154 He said: "Here is a she-camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed. 155 And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day." 156 But they hamstrung her, and then were penitent. 157 For they were seized by the torment. Verily there was a sign in this, but most of them did not believe. 158 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 159

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
